"Weird Science" is the tenth episode of the first season of the The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish. It is the first half of the one-hundred ninety-first (191) episode in the "The Fairly OddParents!" universe overall.

Plot[]

Cosmo and Wanda rewrite the laws of science in order to make Hazel's science fair project work.

Synopsis[]

In Hazel’s room, she attaches a lightbulb to a potato and draws a face on it. Cosmo and Wanda arrive and she explains that it’s her project for the science fair at her school and she hopes to make a good impression as her parents will be attending and her brother Antony always won first prize at his own science fairs. Wanda questions when her project is due, she says that the science fair is today, causing Cosmo to gag up another lightbulb after he went back for seconds. Hazel admits that although she left her project to the last minute and didn’t bother to read the chapter about electricity in her science book, she isn’t worried since her dad is a scholar of parascience, and therefore is in her genes. Upon seeing project she realizes she cannot win if her project doesn’t work. Therefore she wishes that her science project worked, which her fairies grant.

Arriving at Dimmadelphia Enrichment Academy, Hazel meets up with Jasmine who has made a solar system model for her project and wrote a song to remember the order of the planets, which she quickly forgets. Winn greets them and tells them that they invented a hat that never gives you hat hair, impressing them both. Dev arrives and quickly insults how basic Hazel’s project is, informing them that he (actually his Au Pairs) created a microchip that can power the entire eastern side of Dimmadelphia and that he will be winning the first place ribbon before walking off. Jasmine assures Hazel not to listen to Dev and that her project is great.

Hazel then notices that the clouds in the sky are vertical and finds that a flight of stairs are bouncy after attempting to go down them. She immediately questions her fairies to which Wanda explains that in order to ensure that Hazel’s project worked: they had to alter the laws of science, much to her shock. At first Hazel dismisses it as a minor inconvenience until she arrives in class and Cosmo points out that dogs are flying around like birds outside the window. She closes the blinds after getting Mr. Guzman’s approval to avoid suspicion.

Mr. Guzman tells the class that today’s lesson will be about the benefits of meditation. Mr. Guzman and the rest of the class does so as Hazel notices them all floating in midair, completely unaware. Hazel, Cosmo and Wanda are then grabbed and pulled into the hallway by Jorgen Von Strangle, who informs her that because of her wish, the wands are not working in Fairy World.
