The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish is an American animated television series based on the 2001 animated series The Fairly OddParents. The series premiered on Nickelodeon in the United States on May 20, 2024. The first 10 episodes were released internationally on Netflix on November 14, 2024, with the last 10 episodes releasing on June 12, 2025, referred to as "Season 2" on the streaming platform. The full series was also released on Paramount+ on March 12, 2025. Like the original series, it generally received mostly positive reviews, especially for its CG animation and faithfulness to the source material.
Premise[]
The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish follows the story of Hazel Wells, a 10-year-old girl who has recently moved to the big city of Dimmadelphia due to her father's new job. On top of being in an unfamiliar environment, it's also the first time she's been without her brother, Antony, who just left for college, leaving her feeling lonely and unsure of herself. All that changes when their pink-and-green-haired neighbors next door reveal themselves to be no ordinary neighbors — they're fairy godparents Cosmo and Wanda, who are coming out of retirement to be the fairy godparents of Hazel.[2][3]

Episodes[]
This list is being organized following primarily the intended order by the producers, the packaging order, sticking to the main continuity present in the show, which is heavily relevant compared to previous incarnations. While it's being followed sorta accurately by digital stores, Netflix's international release likely is the one with the definitive order, since they're one of the main producer companies.
NOTE TO EDITORS: If you've any doubts regarding the current way of organizing, please refer to this discussion.

Production[]
On June 8, 2023, trademark registrations attached to Paramount Global and Nickelodeon were made.[22][23] In July 2023, Norris confirmed that a new Fairly OddParents project was in the works.[24] On February 23, 2024, it was announced that Nickelodeon had ordered The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish to be released on the channel in Spring 2024.
The series has a 20-episode order for the first season and is produced by Nickelodeon Animation in Burbank. The series is co-executive produced by David Stone (Teen Titans Go!), Lindsay Katai (Infinity Train), Ashleigh Crystal Hairston (Tiny Toons Looniversity) and Daniel Abramovici (The Peanuts Movie). Fred Seibert (Adventure Time) and Butch Hartman (Fairly OddParents) also serve as executive producers. Production is overseen by Claudia Spinelli, SVP Animation for Big Kids at Nickelodeon, and Kelley Gardner, VP Current Series, Animation. The series is overseen by Executive in Charge, Neil Wade. It premiered internationally on Netflix in November 2024.[2] The CG animation was produced by Giant Animation in Dublin.
According to Story Editor Lindsay Katai, the fate of the show getting further seasons will be determined by its worldwide performance on Netflix.[25]
On May 15, 2025, Netflix announced the second half of the first season, with these episodes referred to as Season 2, in which it will premiere on the aforementioned platform on June 12, 2025.[26]
Trivia[]
- Like the first animated television series, it comprises of half-hour episodes with two 11-minute stories mostly, but was produced and aired as separate 11-minute episodes, with the first episode taking up two codes due to the 11-minute time limit.
- While Nickelodeon still packages the segments into 'half-hour shows' they've taken some liberties disrupting the original intended order of episodes.
- The series uses a CG-animation technique (known as Spider-mation), very similar to the Spider-Verse films, to give the series a stop-motion feel, animated in a very low frame rate, or otherwise, in twos.
- Aside from Daran Norris and Susanne Blakeslee, several cast members from the original series returned to do voicework in the reboot:
- It has been confirmed that Carlos Alazraqui and Grey DeLisle will be in the reboot, although they did not reprise their roles as Juandissimo Magnifico or Tootie (however, Juandissimo makes a non-speaking cameo in the season finale).
- It was also confirmed that Eric Bauza will be involved in the reboot. He was later revealed to voice Peri, the grown-up version of Poof, as well as Irep, the grown-up version of Foop. Peri's previous name was mentioned a few times, but it was not his permanent name due to the fact that "poof" is a derogatory slur for gay men in the UK and other countries. [2]
- In "Crock to the Future" and "Operation: Birthday Takeback", Carlos Alazraqui and Grey DeLisle did reprise their roles as Mr. Crocker and Vicky (along with Gary LeRoi Gray reprising his role as A.J.) making this so far 5 voice actors from to reprise their roles as characters from the original series (4 voice actors if Cosmo, Wanda, Vicky, and Mr. Crocker are counted, as they're being reprised by their original voices since A.J. was originally played by Ibrahim Haneef Muhammad) along with Crocker and Vicky being so far the only villains from the original series to return in A New Wish, but only Daran Norris, Susanne Blakeslee, and Carlos Alazraqui reprised their roles as their characters from the original series to the Fairly Odder and A New Wish reboots.
- It has been confirmed that Tom Kenny will be in the reboot, but didn't reprise his role as Cupid, with the role of Cupid going to Yung-I Chang in the episode "A Date to Remember".[27]
- This leaves Tara Strong, Dionne Quan, Kari Wahlgren, Dee Bradley Baker, Rob Paulsen, Maddie Taylor, Kevin Michael Richardson, and Jason Marsden as cast members who've yet to return in the reboot.
- A few crew members from the original series also returned to work on the reboot: Alec Schwimmer, Eirik Paye, and Andre Nieves.
- The Latin American Spanish dub of this show was done in Mexico, unlike the original series, where the Latin American dub was done in Miami, Florida. As a result, most of the returning characters from the original show were recast, with Cosmo and Wanda now being voiced by Tommy Rojas and Betzabé Jara, who both use a characterization that gives them a reasonable resemblance to Sergio Sáez and Anna Silvetti, the characters' first Latin American voice actors in the original series.
- Likewise, Sergio Sáez publicly confirmed through the "Stupid Punks" channel that he was never contacted to return to Cosmo and that he also had no knowledge about the new series.[28]
- This is the second The Fairly OddParents series that premieres on a streaming service (Netflix), after The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder (Paramount+), though it will be premiering internationally.
- This is also the second series shown on Netflix after the original series.
- The way the eyes of the characters are designed is somewhat different from the original show. For one, all characters, including humans and characters who didn't have them before, like Jorgen, now have pupils. Also, in the original show, there were few to no characters with brown eyes, while A New Wish has multiple notable brown-eyed characters, including Hazel, the protagonist.
- This is the first series to be produced at Frederator Studios, 7 years after the original series ended.
- Unlike the original series, there are no "The End" title cards when the episode is over.
- The story takes place 20 years later after The Fairly OddParents, meaning it takes place in the "good future" timeline of "Channel Chasers".
