Trivia

• This episode's plot is similar to the original series episodes "Abra-Catastrophe!" and "Timmy's Secret Wish!", where someone (Dev) breaks the number one rule, and someone (Hazel) gets a rule-free wish.
• This episode marks the return of Anti-Cosmo and Anti-Wanda since their last physical appearance in "Balance of Flour".
  • This also marks the first appearance of Foop in an episode with either of his parents since "Anti-Poof," his debut episode.
  • Juandissimo, Mama Cosma, Big Daddy, and Irving also return as small non-speaking cameos.
• Bev likes Trev, and therefore forms a love triangle with Dev.
• This was the second episode of The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish to be leaked, the first one being Fly.
• Starting from this episode, Jasmine, Winn and Antony are now aware that Hazel has fairy godparents and are allowed to remember this fact thanks to Hazel’s rule-free wish.
  • However, the three of them admit to Hazel that each of them already had a feeling that Hazel had fairy godparents based on their experiences from previous episodes:

• Because of his actions in this episode, Dev gets Peri taken away from him, and his memories of Peri and fairies in general are erased.

  • This is also the first time Crocker appears in a 2-part episode of A New Wish.
• This is the final episode of A New Wish, as there has been no word of the show’s renewal.

Allusions

• Pangea - When Dev wished that all continents would merge together, the bigger continent is named "Pangea", which was the name of an actual supercontinent that existed millions of years ago. During the course of millions of years, it would drift apart and become the modern continents.
• Mars Need Moms - a man holding a newspaper on the title is a reference from a Disney movie.

Continuity & Easter Eggs

• The title card for this episode could loosely reference the title card for "Fairy Fairy Quite Contrary".
• Magical Backup is brought back in this episode, but it is reimagined as a fatal condition that can kill an affected fairy, with Peri developing it and nearly dying from it due to not granting wishes.

Running Gags

• Cosmo saying, "Should have seen that coming."
• Wanda emphasizing the word "deep" when saying the phrase "Deep down."
• Wanda being called "Pam."

Errors

• How would it have only taken Hazel less than a year to have made a million wishes when it took Timmy 50 years to do it?
• Two Cupids can be seen when Fairy World gets returned back to normal; one still frowning in the capsule and another cheering in the background.
• Jazmine says she found out about Hazel having fairies in Fearless while facing the manifestations of her deepest fears, when that's impossible since Hazel was preventing her from seeing them.
