• A Midsummer Night's Dream - The plot involving people mistakenly falling in love for each other is just the same as the one of William Shakespeare's play.
• Tex Avery Cartoons - When Timmy sees Trixie in her dress, his bow spins which is a reference to Tex Avery cartoons.
• Greek Mythology - Cosmo falling in love with his reflection is a reference of Narcissus, who was a hunter who looked into a pool of water and fell in love with himself.

• Women slapping the person with a handbag after falling out of love.
• Timmy crashing into random objects.
• Somebody saying, "That is Spanish for something".
• Timmy trying to get Trixie to fall in love with him, but his plan keeps backfiring.

• When the episode aired in Latin America after the commercial break, it shows Chicken Poofs again and then another commercial break, it shows part of this episode.
• Cupid did not hit Trixie with anti-love arrows, (unless it's offscreen).
