Something's Fishy! is the twenty-eighth episode of Season 5
Plot[]
Timmy Turner is at the beach and he is bored silly so he, Cosmo, and Wanda set off to explore the deep, and everywhere they go, Cosmo seems to be hated by every single fish. Soon, they end up in the lost city of Atlantis, and Cosmo is taken captive when it is revealed it was he who sunk the city long ago (it's revealed that Cosmo actually sank it nine times). Timmy appeals to Atlantis’ leader, King Greg—if he can show good cause why Atlanteans should be happy beneath the sea, Cosmo will be set free. Will Timmy save Cosmo?
Synopsis[]
Timmy Turner is at the beach, eager to use his snorkeling gear from Wet Willie: The Movie. While he didn't like the movie, he did like the merchandise, and from that he was set to dive underwater. At first he just sees trash near the surface, and is dissatisfied. Cosmo tells Timmy that there's more treasure deeper in the ocean, but quickly returns to the surface due to the amount of trash he regurgitated. The product warned Timmy that the glasses weren't used for breathing underwater. Timmy then achieves his lifelong dream by wishing he had the powers of Wet Willie, and consequently becomes the merman Timmy Turntrout.
Already underwater, Timmy shoots Aquaman-ish rings to communicate with fish, but the school of fish had recognized Cosmo over his "soulless green eyes" and run away. Puzzled, Timmy is yet unaware of Comso's past underwater, Cosmo nonetheless diverts Timmy to a sunken pirate ship. Timmy, Cosmo and Wanda are confronted by a group of sharks, Timmy communicates with them trying to be friendly, but even the sharks run away as they too recognized The Accursed One.
As Wanda continues confused over Cosmo's status, Cosmo tells Timmy Turntrout that they were headed for Atlantis, which Timmy didn't believe in until he crashes to a Welcome to Atlantis sign. Timmy and the fairies are later headed there, and Timmy has fallen in love with it. Thinking he saw everything (about The Accursed One), Cosmo and Wanda poof back to their normal selves asking for Timmy to head to Clevelandlantis. They are being interrupted when the merpeople are headed towards a declaration from King Greg's palace about the constant hunt for what they call The Accursed One that sank Atlantis. A merman in the crowd discovers Cosmo and the Atlantean guards encircle him, Wanda and Timmy. A merguard catches Cosmo and Wanda, King Greg silences The Accursed One. Timmy ridicules over the name Greg, Greg mocks Timmy's Turntrout surname. Greg captures Timmy, saying that there won't be any trial, leaving Greg to imprison Timmy in a cage and being fed by fish food, likely summoning a giant squid to crush Atlantis. Timmy's summoning is delayed, and the three are headed to trial.
Greg begins the trial, and Timmy seems pretty confident that he and his fairies will be okay, but King Greg immediately declares them guilty without giving Timmy a chance to say anything. King Greg sends in a kraken to devour Cosmo (to which a kraken busts through the doors of the courtroom), but Timmy argues that that's way too harsh of punishment for sinking Atlantis just one time -- but much to the shock of both Timmy and Wanda, Cosmo sheepishly admits that he actually managed to (somehow) sink Atlantis a total of nine times. Upon hearing this, King Greg then sends in eight more krakens (while also making a note for himself to enlarge kraken doors after the next eight kraken bust through the doors just like the first one did) -- a kraken grabs Cosmo and intends to eat him, but Timmy argues that Cosmo sinking the city of Atlantis was ultimately for the best, noting how the Atlanteans have clean/utopian society (with Timmy emphasizing how "utopia" basically means "good"). Upon hearing this, the Atlanteans start talking amongst themselves and seem to realize that Timmy may actually have a point in what he's saying -- Timmy then asks King Greg to give him some time to show clear evidence that Cosmo sinking Atlantis was ultimately a good thing, but if unable to do so, the krakens can devour him and his fairies. Timmy then takes King Greg up to the surface:
- 1.) The first stop is a tour of the horrors of the surface world is trash, as a truck starts dumping more trash to an open dumpster. King Greg says otherwise, as the Atlanteans are quick at cleaning.
- 2.) Next comes waste, Greg said that they would have adapted.
- 3.) Even society in the surface world is in chaos, with a bully filling in Timmy's dad with sand as the spot was his. But Mr. Turner claims he can't leave until Timmy comes back from his snorkeling trip while also claiming Timmy took the car keys, which Timmy claims he didn't. It then turns out that the car keys were taken by a pair of fish. King Greg said that he would have made friends with the bully, telepathically, like with the fish.
- 4.) Timmy argues that the humans aren't friends with the fish, as they are frequently eaten in the surface, but Greg admits that Atlanteans also eat fish (as it's a natural part of their diet). Thinking that this is all Timmy had to show, the Atlantean king is about to have the kid as well as his fairies devoured by Krakens, but then Timmy reveals he has one more thing -- he didn't want it to come to this, but it's necessary for the current situation.
- 5.) Timmy takes King Greg to see Wet Willie: The Movie, and he's absolutely horrified by it, shocked that people would consider something like that "entertainment" and pay $9 to see it (Cosmo then chimes in, "$10 on weekends"). King Greg then agrees that Cosmo sinking Atlantis was ultimately a good thing and (along with all the Kraken that happened to see the movie as well) flees back to their underwater utopia.
Back in Atlantis, Cosmo, Wanda and Timmy are celebrated with medals of gratitude for what Timmy Turntrout said in the trial. Cosmo is no longer The Accursed One, rather The Beloved One. King Greg says that Timmy, Wanda and Cosmo are welcome at any time. Wanda learned a lesson from Cosmo, but the arrival of a giant squid (delayed from when Timmy Turntrout was summoning earlier) wreaks havoc and destroys Atlantis. Timmy Turntrout becomes the New Accursed One. Timmy and his fairies escape and go on a car trip to Clevelandlantis by invitation of the fish who stole his dad's car.
