Wanda: Well, Timmy, pixies are just as magical as fairies but they treat magic just like a business.
Cosmo: And they have horrible taste in hats.
— Wanda and Cosmo on pixies in Pixies Inc..

Pixies are a species of magical creatures who are known to wield wish-granting magic as much as fairies and genies. In earlier seasons, they appeared as major antagonists, much like the Anti-Fairies.

Psychological Characteristics[]

Unlike fairies, pixies treat magic just like a business, most of which involve the use of bureaucratic paperwork to grant wishes.[1] They all speak in a gloomy, monotonous tone of voice, which usually lacks most (if not all) emotion. Their known primary goal is to control Fairy World and Earth, and possibly the rest of the universe. All of the Pixies reside in Pixie World, and they are all lead by their leader, the Head Pixie, also known as H.P, alongside Sanderson, who seems to be second in command, and almost always appears by his side.

Physiology[]

Similar to fairies, pixies are human in appearance, albeit small in size, having bodies that are about the same size as children, though there are some bigger pixies who specifically works as guards.[2] Their wings are square-shaped rather than circular when compared to fairies'. They wear grey business suits with white undershirts and black ties and have pointy grey hats. Their shoes are also black. All pixies aside from H.P. have square heads and wear black glasses.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Pixie Magic: As noted by Wanda, pixies are just as magically-powerfully as fairies.[1] As opposed to fairy magic, which is accompanied by a "poof," pixie magic makes a pixelated ping sound.
    • Teleportation: Pixies can teleport themselves or an object nearly any place they want. However this doesn't seem possible when a pixie suffers heavy injuries, as shown in School's Out!: The Musical where H.P. and Sanderson are forced to drive back home.
  • Winged Flight: Like fairies, pixies possess wings that give them the ability to fly. Despite this, most pixies actually don't visibly flap their wings yet still can maintain flight.
  • Immortality: Pixies live forever, A much needed ability as H.P. often takes years enacting his plans. Both H.P. and Sanderson retains their appearance even after 30+ years, it can be assumed that they will look similar for the next thousands of years.

Weaknesses[]

  • Contracts: As evil as pixies can get, they are still limited by the rules set within their own contracts, even when the outcome isn't favorable to them. Rules within these contracts are permanent until the deal is done, they are unchangeable even by H.P.

Equipment[]

  • Pixie Cellphone: Pixies have magical cellphones in place of wands.
  • Pixie Uniform: All pixies (and fairies when the pixies took over their world) are mandated to wear a set of uniform during work, which consists of grey business suits with white undershirts and black ties, completed with sunglasses and a pointy grey hat floating above their head.

Other less-used equipments include:

  • Magic Detector: A tool used by pixie guards to detect fun fairy magic.
  • Binocular: A pixelated binocular owned by H.P.

Appearances[]

Trivia[]

  • The pixies are also a pun on the word, "pixel", a reference to whenever they grant a wish, instead of a poof, they make a pixelated ping sound.
  • All shown pixies have been male.
  • Every pixie is voiced by actor and economist Ben Stein using his normal speaking voice.
  • Cosmo was formerly an employee of Pixies, Inc., and was ranked Rice President.
  • In School's Out!: The Musical, it is revealed that the pixies are last in line in the wish-granting business, and will take over if the children become the dominant species of Earth, and they're the last magical creature remaining on Earth.
  • Jorgen Von Strangle has been shown to abuse the pixies frequently and finds a different use for them as punishment for their corporate abuse, first using them as darts in Pixies Inc. (dubbing them "Pointy-Headed Freaks").
  • Despite their boring demeanor and monotone voice, both H.P. and Sanderson have been shown to be excellent rappers.
  • In the video game, The Fairly OddParents: Clash with the Anti-World, the Anti-Pixies appear. They are the good guys from Anti-Pixies Inc. of Anti-Pixie World led by A.H.P. the Anti-Head Pixie. They enjoy partying instead of corporate blandness.
  • The pixies seem to follow a different set of rules in regards to wish-granting. For example, in School's Out!: The Musical, the pixies could look after and grant wishes for Flappy Bob, even after he becomes an adult (provided he is unaware of the magic itself). They also seem to be allowed to grant money as shown in the same episode, something fairies are unable to do.
  • They are similar to the Cogs from Disney's Toontown Online, as they both want to turn a colorful place (Toontown for Cogs, Fairy World for Pixies) into a boring and grey corporation.
