Trivia
- This is the last Season 4 episode to premiere in 2003, along with its sister episode.
- Timmy's wishes in this episode are in order:
- Attempting to wish for his parents to be released from prison (failed).
- Billboards to appear within the Turnbaum's sight advertising the North American Museum of Pencil Pushing, its Sacred Silver Sharpener and security system (off-screen).
- Getting to Niagara Falls faster.
- Wishing for the guards to be distracted, poofing up an attractive supermodel before them (off-screen).
- Saving the Turnbaum's lives with a second hallway in the trap room.
- Wishing to be "outta here" and get poofed back outside the entrance (during this time the Turnbaums needed to have stolen from the gift shop inside the museum to grab the inflatable boat, so it's likely it only applied to Timmy and his fairies).
- For Cosmo and Wanda to turn into a super fast speed boat.
- A pencil in his hands.
- To fly (Cosmo gleefully makes him into a loon).
- As soon as the episode begins there is a pencil pun, "filling with lead" is used when alluding to shooting someone with bullets, so when Pa shouts "Don't move or I'll fill you full of lead!" at the cashier, he uses a play on words and points a pencil at his face.
- Interestingly, in Latin America the play on words is lost and he simply says "¡No te muevas o te lleno de grafito!", but in the Spain dub of the episode the double meaning has been translated faithfully from English and he says "¡Si te mueves de ahí te lleno de plomo!" (followed by Ma demeaning the cashier before they escape, unlike in the English version where she doesn't insult him as she leaves with Pa), making it so that the Latin American version, Pa is less violent and he doesn't explicitly threaten the cashier.
- In the original English episode they call each other "punky" and "bunky". In the Latin American dub, they have more distinct, gruffer voices from the Turners and they instead refer to each other other as conejito/conejita (bunny).
- Ms. Turnbaum has a mole/beauty mark on her cheek, much like how Mrs. Turner had one in one scene in "Mother Nature".
- This is sort of like Inspection Detection, except it has nothing to do with shoplifting, and it's Timmy's parents getting mistaken for some other people who are criminals.
- This episode reveals that Canada is Cosmo's favorite country in the world.
- Timmy is a duck for the first time, he would be one again in the Season 5 episode, Hassle in the Castle.
- It appears that the American Police and the Canadian Police are closely connected to each other as the Canadians immediately decided to call the Americans to let Timmy's parents go free after capturing the real Souvenir Bandits.
- Cosmo shows his smart side by converting miles into kilometers.
- The design of the woman used to distract guards was later used for Carly for the season 5 episode "Five Days of F.L.A.R.G.", except with a different palette.
- Niagra Falls will later be shown again in another show, The Loud House with the episode Road Trip: Bizarritorium.
- Mrs. Turner would later wear her formal gown again in Miss Dimmsdale (in a purple color), Fairy Friends & Neighbors!, The Masked Magician, It's A Wishful Life (in a blue color) and Vicky Gets Fired.
- Mr. Turner would later wear his tuxedo again in Fairy Friends & Neighbors! and The Masked Magician.
- Moral: Be innocent until you are proven guilty.
Allusions
- The Simpsons - Ms. Turnbaum's hair somewhat resembles Marge Simpson.
- Parent Hoods - The title is a parody of the 1989 Universal movie, Parenthood.
- America's Most Wanted - The show "Dimmsdale's Most Wanted" is a reference of the 1988 Fox television show, hosted by John Walsh.
- Robin Hood - The title sounds like "Robin Hood", also, the main plot is about Timmy trying to catch the Turnbaums, which is similar to Prince John trying to catch Robin Hood (as he stole from Prince John to give to the poor).
- Indiana Jones - The booby traps set in the Museum of Pencil appears and are similar to the booby traps in the temples (only that the booby traps are pencil-themed)
- Maple Leaf Rag - When Cosmo is describing Canada, he poofs up a little Canadian flag. He called the flag "Maple Leaf Flag", which is a spoof on the name of the song.
- Canadian Emergency Alert System - The alarm that sounds when the Turnbaums steal The Sacred Silver Sharpener sounds similar to the EAS tone used in Canada (only sped up).
- This could've been intentional as they were in Canada.
Running Gags
- Mr. Turnbaum screaming that he and Mrs. Turnbaum are the true souvenir bandits at the top of his lungs and Mrs. Turnbaum getting angry at him for that.
- People putting on fake mustaches.
Goofs
- Despite Chet Ubetcha confidently announcing the Turnbaums love pencils, they are totally uninterested in them. They show their incompetence by carelessly triggering the traps everywhere around the museum, and when being faced with the riddle of the Sacred Silver Sharpener.
- The case could be made that they simply wanted clout in the criminal world (or at least within the scope of the Dimmsdale's Most Wanted show) by stealing something as notorious as the sharpener and have no affiliation with pencils.
- When Cosmo poofed a mustache on Wanda's beak (when they were dodos) and they were seen going down the stream, Wanda's crown was black instead of gold like it should be.
- Cosmo claims that the dodo was an extinct flightless bird of Canada, but in actuality, the dodo was really a bird of the Island of Mauritius, which is also where it died out, years after humans began settling there.
- Additionally, Cosmo states that the Loon is the national bird of Canada, when, in actuality, Canada does not have a national bird.
- When Timmy wishes the shortcut to Canada, he says, “let’s get there before my parents get convicted.” However, the news was shown previously, informing us that his parents were already convicted and are sentenced to lifetime of paddling.
- When Timmy's parents got arrested again toward the end of the episode, Timmy wasn't supposed to be arrested along with them.
- It's possible that Timmy's dad blamed his son for his crimes.
