After Timmy wished for a ghost-catching device and asked his fairies to pose as ghosts for his parents to catch them, the Polter-Geeks were on their glory days, and everyone believed in them except for Chet Ubetcha. He agreed with Timmy to meet on the haunted mansion up in the hill (which he wished there was), where Chet wanted to prove the Polter-Geeks were frauds again. At the McCreep mansion, Timmy learned his parents changed the equipment Timmy gave them for the one Crocker gave them, meaning it's now fairy-catching equipment. Timmy went to warn Cosmo and Wanda, but they got caught. Poof, however, managed to escape, and when his parents were about to be killed on the fairy chipper, he got insanely mad and destroyed the mansion and the chipper, and saved them.
