The eighth season first aired on February 12, 2011 with the episode "Love Triangle" and ended on December 29, 2011 with the episode "Meet the OddParents." This season is the shortest one in terms of episode total, featuring only 5 episodes; however, all of the episodes are 30 minutes long excluding the TV movie "Timmy's Secret Wish!" which is 1 hour long. This season began airing in the United States even though there were still several Season 7 episodes that had yet to be broadcast, including Love Triangle's preceding lead-in episode "Spellementary School." However, the unaired episodes of Season 7 are available on Season 7 DVD.

  • This is the shortest season with only 5 episodes.
  • This is the only season in which Mr. Turner is present in all episodes.
  • The entire season aired within one year which is the first season since Season 1 to do so.
  • This season along with Season 9 is the only season to have The Turner's House present in all the episodes.
  • There are no 11 minutes episodes in this season, as every non movie episode is a half hour long. This season also started the trend of more frequent half hour episodes outside of specials.
  • This is the last season to use the SDTV 480i picture format. Starting from Season 9, it changes to the HD 1080P picture format from "Fairly OddPet" until "Fancy Schmancy" in Season 10.
  • This season started and ended before Season 7 had finished airing.
  • This is the last season to get a DVD release. Seasons 9 & 10 were only released digitally.
