The sixth season debuted on February 18, 2008 with the TV movie Fairly Odd Baby. The season did not premiere until nearly two years after the first cancellation of The Fairly OddParents. Season 6 ended with the longest TV movie in the series: Wishology.

Jorgen won't let any other fairy compete because he is the strongest, but after he wins the first five medals, Anti-Cosmo and H.P. knock out Jorgen, leaving his wimpier brethren at the mercy of the Pixies and Anti-Fairies. Timmy becomes the fairies' trainer and makes a bet: if Anti-Cosmo wins, Timmy will be his godchild, if H.P. wins, Timmy will work for him forever, and if Timmy wins he'll make HP and Anti-Cosmo do something really bad. Timmy learns of an ancient danger called The Darkness, that long ago battled with the ancient Fairies until they managed to temporarily trap it among the stars. Centuries later, The Darkness returns, seeking a Chosen One that the ancient Fairy prophets predicted would return one day to defeat the Darkness once and for all. The Darkness sends robots called Eliminators to try to capture Timmy Turner after invading Yugopotamia and stealing their fake-i-fiers. When his friends and family are captured, Timmy must ally with his greatest enemies to save them and stop the Darkness once and for all. This movie is meant to serve as the season finale, and is broken up into three parts nearly an hour long each: The Big Beginning, The Exciting Middle Part, and the The Final Ending, and features spoofs of hit sci-fi/fantasy film trilogies, such as Harry Potter, Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, and The Matrix. The movie also features a reference to Back to the Future, during the chase between Timmy Turner, Jorgen Von Strangle, and the Eliminators. Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, from the rock band KISS, are in the episode as themselves, and actor Brendan Fraser guest stars as Turbo Thunder.
