"Let Sleeper Dogs Lie" is the 25th episode of Season 9.

Plot[]

Crocker discovers that he had programmed Sparky to find his fairies (when Crocker had reached the age to lose his fairies) and to get his fairies back. When Sparky is with Timmy, and hears the activation word, Sparky brings Cosmo and Wanda to Crocker. How will Timmy free them and prevent Sparky doing it again, (as an unwitting sleeper agent)?

Synopsis[]

Young Mr. Crocker plants a microchip on Sparky.

The episode begins with a video of Mr. Crocker as a young adult proposing to a rich beauty queen. Miss Idaho gladly agrees to marry him, on the condition that he quit obsessing over fairy godparents. Crocker refuses and dumps her, saying "It's not like I'm gonna wind up living alone with my mother watching home videos of myself trying to figure out where I went wrong in my life." In the present day, Crocker happens to be doing exactly that. He changes the video to one from his eleventh birthday. He sees Cosmo and Wanda in the video and realizes he used to have fairy godparents. The eleven-year-old Crocker in the video rudely asks Cosmo and Wanda for a magic set, but before they can grant the wish, Jorgen appears and announces that now that Crocker is old enough to treat his problems (namely, his "crazy mother") with therapy, he no longer needs fairies and his memories of them will fade away. The fairies disappear, leaving behind Crocker and his pet, a young Sparky. Crocker tells Sparky about his plan to recoup his godparents: He is going to put a fairy-tracking microchip on Sparky that will force him to retrieve the fairies once a trigger word is said. The end of the trigger word is missing from the video—due to Mrs. Crocker taping over it with a video of her belly dancing—so the only part present-day Crocker can hear is "under".

Crocker uses a trampoline to bounce outside the window to Timmy's room while shouting words beginning with under-. He ends up bouncing into a thorn bush and complaining, "I'm not wearing any underpants!" Sparky enters a trance and picks up Cosmo and Wanda's fishbowl to give the fairies to Crocker, only to stop once Mr. Turner comes by and asks Timmy about underpants. Hearing the word inspires Cosmo to sing a song called "The Underpants Dance"; Timmy and Wanda notice how Sparky goes into or out of a trance every time Cosmo sings "underpants" and suspect there is something secret Crocker knows about Sparky. Sparky gives Timmy a DVD of his home videos so they can investigate, and on it, they see an eleven-year old Crocker putting the microchip in Sparky's tail and explaining the plan to him. This time, the whole trigger word underpants can be heard, and it entrances the present-day Sparky so that he catches Cosmo and Wanda in a butterfly net and disappears with them without Timmy seeing. The Sparky in the video brings Cosmo and Wanda back to the young Crocker. They finally grant his wish for a magic set, then Jorgen comes to take them away again, this time also taking Sparky and the magic set.

At the Crocker Cave, Sparky brings Cosmo and Wanda to Crocker. Crocker straps the fairies to a table and puts helmets with electrodes that will extract their magic on them. Before Sparky can pull down the switch to activate the electrodes, Timmy, who had snuck into the cave, says "underpants" to bring him out of hypnosis. Crocker traps Timmy in a cage, and the two take turns shouting "underpants" at Sparky until the big monitor starts showing the tape of Mrs. Crocker belly dancing, which makes Crocker faint when he sees it. Timmy un-hypnotizes Sparky one more time and gets him to free the fairies. Back at home, Timmy removes the microchip from Sparky and wishes it away. He takes pity on Crocker and wishes he could have the magic set he wanted. Crocker is overjoyed at first to have the set back, then says his fairy obsession has ruined his life again. Miss Idaho shows up and tells him she is still ready for him to drop his obsession and marry her; he rejects her again and drops her into a pit. He brings his attention back to the magic set, and a bear reaches out from inside the magic hat and drags him inside.
