"Information Stupor Highway" is the twenty-third episode of Season 2.
Synopsis[]
Timmy wants to ask Trixie to go to the school dance, so he writes her an e-mail. However, when Cosmo and Timmy's parents add their own terrible "improvements" to the letter and send it, Timmy must venture into the Internet to retrieve it before it reaches Trixie's computer. Meanwhile, Mr. Crocker hacks into Timmy's computer and devises an elaborate scheme to record the existence of fairy godparents and send it to every computer in the world.
Plot[]
Timmy is at his computer, trying to type an email to invite Trixie Tang to a school dance. His parents try to help with their own "mushy" additions; Mr. Turner suggests contrasting Trixie's looks with Mrs. Turner's, and builds on a false claim of holding Trixie's parents for ransom. Once his parents leave, Timmy complains that the letter is "horrifyingly embarrassing". He explains to Wanda that even though he loves Trixie with "the white-hot intensity of a thousand suns", he is not comfortable saying that to her. Mr. Turner barges into the room again, types what Timmy just said about Trixie, and sends the email as it is.
Since Cosmo and Wanda cannot magically unsend the email—which would be interfering with true love—Timmy wishes he were physically inside the Internet so that he can catch the letter himself while the fairies stay to prevent his father from sending more. While literally surfing the Internet, Timmy finds a letter and grabs on to it, and is taken with it to the desktop of another computer. He opens the letter and realizes it is the wrong one: a letter thanking A.J. for donating brain cells to a government cloning program. A.J. comes to the computer and sees Timmy, taking him for a computer virus, and Timmy leaves to go visit some more computers.
After visiting a few more desktops, Timmy discovers a photo of himself on a website called fairies'r'real.wand and gets downloaded to Mr. Crocker's computer. Crocker announces to himself that he will use his website to gather evidence of fairy godparents. He turns on a webcam to "record this glorious moment for posterity", and soon afterward his mother enters the room and makes him try on a leather dress she is bringing to the dance. The computer captures Crocker wearing the dress and Timmy saves the recording in his pocket, inadvertently making a noise that arouses Crocker's attention. Crocker sees him just before he escapes into the Internet. He suspects that some child with fairy godparents must have wished to be inside the Internet and sends a virus to trace this child back to wherever he came from. The Crocker virus makes its way to Timmy's computer, where it records Cosmo and Wanda amusing themselves with a magic fight.
Timmy stumbles onto a chat room Trixie and Veronica are using. He makes a message reading "Do you think Timmy Turner is neat?" and uses it to send himself from Veronica's computer to Trixie's, where he makes off with his e-mail. (To hide her feelings for Timmy from Trixie, Veronica answers that Timmy is "gross".)
On Timmy's computer, a video appears of Crocker saying he will send the recording of Cosmo and Wanda to every computer in the world. Timmy shows up and tells the fairies to turn the computer off before Crocker figures out who their godchild is, and so Cosmo blows up the computer. Timmy flies to Crocker's hard drive in an attempt to stop the video upload, but is stopped by a firewall. Crocker sees him again and sends several viruses to kill this "pink-hatted computer virus". The viruses chase Timmy through the Internet, and Timmy manages to evade all but one of them by getting them stuck in a low-bandwidth zone. Timmy finds the fairy video about to be uploaded to the central hub of the Internet. While being chased around by the remaining virus, he discovers that they can destroy the video by flying over it, and he flies directly over the video so that the virus eats it all up and explodes.
Timmy uploads the recording of Crocker wearing the dress instead, causing it to appear on every computer and television screen on Earth. Now being humiliated on a global scale, Crocker wonders if his situation can get any worse. Just then, A.J. bursts in, having traced the "pink-hatted computer virus" to Crocker's computer, and authorities take the teacher away.
Timmy, with his letter, re-enters the physical world through the computer Mr. Turner built to replace the old, broken one. He shows up at the school dance alone, but feels that his fun Internet adventures make up for it. Trixie suddenly takes the letter from his hands and reads it; she is pleased by what it says and tells him: "If I didn't think you only wanted to date me because I'm prettier than your mom, I'd totally go out with you!" She then has security eject Timmy from the school. Veronica finds the letter and thanks Timmy as if he wrote it for her. After he corrects her, she puts on a Trixie wig and screams, "I am Trixie!" Through Timmy's computer, Cosmo and Wanda save him by using a pointer to drag-and-drop Veronica over a trash can.
