Moral: Being class president isn't just a bunch of perks. It's a very rigorous job.
The title card features Mount Rushmore, but with Wanda, Cosmo and Timmy's heads replacing those of Thomas Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln, respectively; George Washington looks terrified when the other presidents' heads are not in their usual spots.
This is the only appearance of Sanjay in Season 2.
Possibly due to the controversy surrounding its partner episode, this episode airs very rarely in reruns in the United States, although it started airing more throughout 2017 and 2018 on Nicktoons with its last airing being March 15, 2020. These two episodes are occasionally on Nicktoons and Pluto TV, and both episodes are available on the Nick Picks Vol. 3 DVD and on the season 2 DVD, as well as the Paramount+ streaming service.
This episode aired again on 5/6/2019 at 6:30pm.

Hail to the Chief - The title is a direct reference to the Presidential Anthem.

When Timmy, Cosmo, and Wanda are in a trash can at the school cafeteria and Timmy says, "someone with vision, someone with ideals, someone with..." Cosmo briefly has Timmy's buck teeth.

(After Tad and Chad cut in line)

Timmy Turner: Forget it, we were here first!

Tad: Co-president Chad, do you hear some non-student body-president talking?

Chad: No, I don't co-president Tad, but I do know this: student-body presidents get first in line privileges.

Timmy: Well yeah? What about me, the common student, what do I get?

(Timmy is launched by a secret trap door into the trashcan)

Wanda: It's not over until the fat lady votes!

Cosmo: The principal can vote?

Trixie Tang: Wow, you're .001% more of a person in my eyes now, Timmy.

Cosmo: You'll have to win the old fashioned way -- BUY YOUR WAY IN!

Cosmo: We can drive your election -- right into the ground.

Principal Waxelplax: (about why she is the only one at the school aside from Timmy) I'm frosting intolerant!

Cosmo: You'll have to do something bad to be impeached! I'll get the monkey!

Although this episode premiered in 2002, it was made in 2001 according to the credits.
This episode (along with "Twistory") shares the same U.S. air date as The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius episodes "Raise the Oozy Scab/I Dream of Jimmy" on Nickelodeon.
