"Hail to the Chief" is the nineteenth episode of Season 2.

Plot[]

Tired of Tad and Chad abusing their privileges as student body co-Presidents, Timmy campaigns against them and wins. All is not easy being student body President, however. His bodyguards (Chester and A.J.) constantly keep him away from Trixie and follow him everywhere, even into a bathroom stall.

Synopsis[]

It is Cake and Gruel Day at the Dimmsdale Elementary cafeteria, and student body presidents Tad and Chad unfairly use their bodyguard to cut to the front of the lunch line. Frustrated by the two popular boys abusing their presidential privileges, Timmy decides to run against them in the upcoming student elections. When he announces his plan, Trixie Tang takes notice and tells him, "You're .001 percent more of a person in my eyes now", and he realizes that Trixie, as the school newspaper's political reporter, will pay more attention to him if he becomes president.

Timmy later learns from Cosmo and Wanda that he cannot just wish to be student body president because winning a competition with magic is against Da Rules. Instead, the fairies try to help by managing his campaign; they summon William Shakespeare to help him write a campaign speech.

Tad and Chad and Timmy give their speeches at school the next day. Timmy improvises, and tells the student body they should be represented by someone who is like them, rather than someone who will push them around. This wins them over, but then Tad and Chad take the stage again and announce they will extend Cake Day, and the whole audience runs out to get more cake. On the day of the election, Timmy shows up at school by himself, since every other student had gotten food poisoning from the cake. Timmy casts the only vote and wins the race.

Timmy as student body president.

The following day, President Timmy starts to explore the perks of his job. He attracts Trixie's attention by ejecting Tad and Chad from the front of the lunch line, but before they can talk for long, Chester and A.J., his secret service detail, wrongly detect a threat to his safety and take him away. Later, on the way to one of Timmy's "appointments", they carry Timmy right past Trixie without stopping. During a speech in which Timmy pledges support for the Future Phlegmers student group, Elmer sneezes toward him, and A.J. shields Timmy from the mucus by jumping in front of him and ends up with a cold.

Timmy tells Cosmo and Wanda he wants to quit being president, complaining that it is boring work and that he never gets to talk with Trixie because of his secret service. The godparents answer that he has to do something scandalous so that the school impeachs him. He lets the popular kids catch him joining the Library Assistant's Club and pleads guilty to "geekiness while in office", and the shocked student body votes him out of office and replaces him with Tad and Chad. He goes to Trixie hoping they can finally talk, but now that he is no longer president, she is not interested, and she leaves with Tad and Chad.

Sitting alone in a classroom, Timmy says the fairies, "I'd rather be a normal geek than student body president any day!" The Future Phlegmers stop by to thank him for standing up for them and surround him while chanting "One of us!"
