"Fly" is the first episode of the first season of The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish. It is the one-hundred eighty-sixth (186) episode in the "The Fairly OddParents!" universe overall.

Plot[]

Hazel Wells has just moved to the big city of Dimmadelphia, but when she has trouble adjusting to her new life, she tries to run away from home, and finds out her weird neighbors, Cosmo and Wanda, are fairy godparents in disguise.

Synopsis[]

Hazel is unpacking in her room, welcoming her rocks to the new home. She was saddened by her brother's absence but tried to make the best of the move. She then started to talk to a rock which she called "Rock-tilda", who was a rock fairy, granting herself one wish. She cheated the system, wishing for unlimited wishes. Her parents enter the room, asking if she needed help. She denied their help and continued to talk to Rock-tilda, reassuring the rock that she would only make the one wish, wanting her brother back.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang, and Cosmo and Wanda (disguised as humans) appeared at the door, presenting themselves. The Wellses greet the two, as Cosmo hands Angela a basket as they used their magic to fill the box with items. The Wellses welcome the couple inside their home as they get further acquainted with each other. Hazel starts to notice suspicious behavior from the two and tries to alert her parents, but they don't listen. Marcus explains he is a parascience expert. This alerts the couple as they make their leave in fear.They turn the subject back toward Antony, and her parents embrace Hazel's maturity.

The next day, Hazel started her first day of school, feeling confident with herself. She enters the class and introduces herself, afterwards being mocked by Dev Dimmadome. Later at lunch, Dev approaches Hazel as he introduces himself and gives her a synopsis of the students in the school.

Meanwhile, Cosmo and Wanda were looking through mail as Hazel had returned to the apartment. Once she heard her brother would not be returning due to a storm, she packs her bags and attempts to run away from home, only to be halted by Cosmo and Wanda, who try to stop her. After failing to get anywhere, she wished to be able to fly to Antony herself, activating Cosmo and Wanda's magic and being turned into a literal fly.

She questions Cosmo and Wanda, and they reveal themselves to be fairy godparents. As they're distracted, Hazel makes another run for it, where she stopped at the smell of french fries, where she went to eat them. They use the french fries to lead her back to the apartment and capture her in a jar.

They head to Hazel's apartment as they try to turn Hazel back. Wanda distracts her parents as Cosmo tries to change Hazel back, accidentally changing her into different objects along the way. Hazel gets caught in the Venus flytrap, where she meets an ant named Tony. The ant explains how it ended up in the flytrap. Its words enlighten Hazel as Hazel flew them both to safety, where Cosmo catches them in the jar. She wishes to return to her human form and says her final goodbyes to Tony. Later, Hazel visits Cosmo and Wanda's apartment to apologize, only to be astonished by their home. They explain that the hallway is in Dimmadelphia while the apartment is in Fairy World. The couple later request to be Hazel's fairy godparents as she accepts the deal, and they make it official.
