What's a "wiki"?
The FOP Wiki is different from other Fairly OddParents fan sites in that any fan can contribute. A wiki is a website where any visitor--not just registered members or administrators--can edit the content of any page; you can even change the text of what you're looking at right now.
A wiki is a practical medium for documenting large volumes of information. Creating a Fairly OddParents encyclopedia would be too great a task for a single person. But with hundreds of editors updating a wiki, it can easily become a robust knowledge base in a short matter of time. See Wikipedia or the SpongeBob SquarePants Wiki for examples of successful wikis.
While you don't have to register to edit, it is recommended. It's free and you don't need an email address. By choosing to register, you get a number of benefits that include your own user page, your own talk page, and the ability to keep a "watchlist" of pages and be notified when they are updated. Registering solidifies your place in the FOP Wiki community. After you have registered, just add your name to the the Users category.
Don't be shy--be BOLD! Any little bit is helpful; if you think an article can be improved, just click the "Edit this page" button at the top of your screen and add your vision. For your first edit, consider experimenting in the FOP Wiki's Sandbox.
Other great places to help get started editing include the Recent Changes page. Here you can see the edits made by more experienced users. There may also be vandalism, if you see something that doesn't belong, don't hesitate to change it, or if you don't know how to fix it, use the problem report option located at the bottom of the page. There are many other special pages that allow you easy access to parts of the Wiki that need improvement, such as article stubs and unfinished pages.
Become a regular editor! If you can think it, you can have it up on FOP Wiki as quickly as you can type. Because wikis don't require the use of messy HTML, editing pages is quick, easy, and fun. If you have the Fairly OddParents knowledge; why not share it? Create an account and make your mark on the FOP Wiki community.
