Trivia
- Two unknown fairies appear in the title card.
- This is the first time Mr. Crocker is seen without his glasses.
- First appearances of Britney Britney and Binky.
- This episode starts Mr. Turner's paranoia that Mr. Crocker is trying to steal his wife.
- This episode and its sister episode premiered on Butch Hartman’s 38th birthday.
- Apparently Timmy is never supposed to have an A+ on anything (especially tests) because it is apparently a sign of the "apocalypse".
- The Wheel of Torture has Jorgen's name almost everywhere on it meaning that Jorgen is almost always most likely to choose where the next convention is.
- This is the first episode to premiere in 2003.
- Timmy breaks the fourth wall when he said thanks to someone about his short attention span of getting his A+, as if someone was either a crew member or a viewer.
- This is also the first time Mr. Crocker guesses about how a seemingly impossible event happens involving Timmy's fairies. Ironically, he's wrong as it's against Da Rules and it was pure luck Timmy got his A+ (he doodled on it due to his short attention span).
- This episode premiered in Australia almost one year before the United States.
Allusions
- Comic Con - The episode's title is a reference to the convention.
- The Wheel of Fortune - The Wheel of Torture is a reference to the game show.
- Britney Spears - The singer who goes to The Turner's household "Britney Britney" is a spoof of the singer, Britney Spears.
Running Gags
- Dad claiming everything that's his.
- Mom telling everybody to knock before going into the bathroom.
- Mr. Crocker talking to himself about people, only for them to overhear him.
- Wanda turning Cosmo into a bullhorn and alerts the word "HUMAN!" then the fairies turning the bathroom back to normal before Mr. Crocker enters.
Goofs
- At the beginning of the episode, Wanda claims that every fairy in the universe is on the wheel of torture. However, this does not look possible, as there are only 39 slots, and thousands were in the crowd.
- Binky claims that he got the Black Plague to come to last year's Secret Fairy Convention which caused half of Europe to be wiped out and a short while later we flash-forward 1,000 years. In reality, the Black Plague ravaged Europe between 1347 and 1351 and only wiped out one-third of Europe.
- When Crocker arrives at the house, it's implied that this is the first time Timmy's parents meet him, and also that this is the first time he meets them. However, the episode The Secret Origin of Denzel Crocker! reveals that Crocker studied in the same school in which Timmy's parents studied, and he even saved Mr. Turner from being ran over by a truck, leading confusion on why Mr. Turner would hate him if he saved his life.
- However, given that his memory was erased by Jorgen Von Strangle in that episode and was deformed, it's likely that Timmy's parents didn't recognize him as he didn't remember them.
- When Britney Britney powders her face with soap while looking at the mirror, she, as an object, is not reversed in the direction perpendicular to the mirror surface, so the wrong mirror image will be produced. After that, when she grabs the soap on the right, the word, “SOAP”, is upside down and not reversed on the mirror image. When she throws the soap to the bathroom floor on the left, the mirror inverts left to right. However, when she asks herself, “Hmmm, what’s this?”, the mirror inverts right to left as she is facing right. When she notices the Cosmo Con badge, the position of the soap changes from left to right on the bathroom floor.
- At the eating dinner, when Britney Britney shows Denzen Crocker the Cosmo Con badge, two glasses do not appear behind a plate of dead fish and a pot of fairy detector is behind the left side of the plate of dead fish. However, when Denzel Crocker says, "I knew I'm with them!", two glasses appear behind the plate of dead fish and the pot of fairy detector moves slightly to the left.
- At the eating dinner, when Timmy says, "Oh no!", he is holding the fork and the knife and the plate that has a chicken leg and mashed potato on it is in front of him. However, when Denzel Crocker says, "I knew I'm with them!", the fork and the knife are not there and the plate has one brown rectangle, two yellow triangles and one orange semicircle on it instead.
- When Denzel Crocker shouts, "FAIRIES!", he opens his eyes and his brain pops out of his head. However, in the next scene by one frame, he is at the angry smiling state and looks at the Cosmo Con badge.
- At the eating dinner, Mr. Turner has nothing on his mouth. However, when he says, “Great. Now I lost my son to him too. That’s too bad!”, a string of noodle is on his mouth.
- The Britney Britney stage in Cosmo Con has wooden planks that are joined together. However, in two scenes where the group of fairies are chanting “Britney!” and the group of fairies are holding tomatoes, there are gaps between the wooden planks and each wooden plank has two nails that are hammered at the end.
- When Crocker barges in, cannot see, and goes sliding, the pot is on his head. Moments later, it's in his hands.
- When Timmy says, “Let ‘em hear it!”, his body is gone.
- When Mrs. Turner says, “Hey, wait a minute. Dad never asks me to hit it.”, the upper teeth is gone when talking.
- After Cosmo destroyed Fairy World when he was a baby, Fairy World was all modernish, or maybe Fairy World rebuilt civilization in the style of medieval after that.
Production Notes
- Although this episode along with "Wanda's Day Off!" were premiered in January 10, 2003 in the USA, they were produced in 2002 according to the credits.
Quotes
- Wanda: Besides! All that's left is the closing entertainment!
- Cosmo: Fairy conventions are notoriously short!
- Timmy: Well, okay, as long as Cosmo didn't do anything stupid like book a human entertainer who will see this, blow the secret, and make you guys go away forever.
- Cosmo: Uh... actually there's a very funny story behind that (doorbell rings) Oops!
- Cosmo: [riding on a boat] Look at me! I'm seaworthy! Look at the size of my poopdeck! (blows the horn with his boat)
- Mr. Turner: (to Timmy as he holds his nose) Son, if you're going to do that shut the door. Not mine!
- Mr. Crocker: I heard them! Fairies! Laughing! In the bathroom!
- Mr. Turner: [referring to Crocker] That hump on his back, that ear on his neck, that figure... He's gorgeous!!!
- A.J.: Oh my gosh! Timmy got an A+! It's a sign of the Apocalypse!
- Chester: Everyone to the bunker! Run!!!
- Mr. Crocker: Good news, class, The Fs are in. [takes the F's out of oven] Smell those fresh, hot F's. [Crocker takes a whiff of the papers and then he notices one paper doesn't smell like an F] Wait a minute! [Takes a paper out of the stack] This one smells like an A+ and it's for... [Crocker turns around] Timmy Turner.
- (Seeking fairies, Crocker bursts into the bathroom, and into Timmy's mom, who's sitting on the sink, cutting coupons)
- Mrs. Turner: Aiiieeee! [turns out she was clipping coupons instead of sitting on the toilet] Can't a woman clip coupons in her own bathroom in private?
- Britney Britney: Ugh. I'm never going to sing.
- Mr. Turner: Also, mine! And stay out!
