"Cosmo Con" is the eighth episode of Season 3 which aired on January 10, 2003 in the US.

Plot

When Cosmo gets picked to host the ultra secret Fairy Convention, he picks the most logical place he can think of—Timmy's bathroom. Unfortunately, he picked it on the same day that Timmy's fairy hunting teacher, Mr. Crocker, is coming over for dinner!

Synopsis

During the medieval times, all the fairies in Fairy World have gathered after their recent convention. Binky, that year's host, is being berated by Jorgen for ruining the convention. Binky apologizes, saying that he thought The Black Plague was a band, and didn't think it would kill so many people in Europe. As punishment, Jorgen attaches him to a spinning wheel that will be used to determine which fairy will host the next one. Cosmo hopes he will be chosen, but Wanda reminds him that he has as much of a chance as all the other fairies in existence(and even less of a chance compared to Jorgen). Unfortunately, Jorgen underestimates his strength, causing the wheel and Binky to spin uncontrollably. He promises to contact all the fairies when the wheel stops.

The convention in the bathroom

In the present, Timmy has amazingly aced one of Mr. Crocker's tests. The rest of the kids think it is a sign of the apocalypse and run away. Timmy admits to himself that he was just doodling on the test, then thanks his short attention span. Crocker thinks that Timmy getting an A+ is the result of Timmy's fairies. At the same time, Jorgen magically appears on Timmy's worksheet, and snatches away Cosmo and Wanda, bringing them to Fairy World. Crocker monologues loud enough for Timmy to hear, saying he will invite himself over to the Turner house for dinner, taking the opportunity to search for his fairies.

In Fairy World, Binky has finally stopped spinning and the wheel lands on Cosmo's name. Cosmo knows just the place to have the next convention, and waves his wand to begin setting up.

At Timmy's house, his family is getting prepared for Crocker. Mr. Turner gets a sneaking suspicion that Mrs. Turner is romantically interested in Mr. Crocker, since she's wearing her "Kiss the Cook" apron. Not helping matters is when Mrs. Turner tells Timmy to install the "good" toilet seat in the upstairs bathroom. However, he finds the entire bathroom transformed into the fairy convention. He finds Cosmo and Wanda, who explain what is happening. Timmy then explains his current situation, warning them that if Crocker catches a whiff of fairies, he'll barge right in.

At that moment, Crocker arrives, holding a fairy detector disguised as a pot of wilting flowers. After offering a dead flower to Mrs. Turner, Mr. Turner worries that Mr. Crocker and his "gorgeous" features will make his wife leave. Crocker monologues within earshot of Timmy's parents that he will get the idiotic parents to show him around the house and check the rooms with his fairy detector. When they reach the bathroom, the fairy detector beeps rapidly. Crocker is about to barge in, but, luckily, Crocker is told by Timmy's mom that he has to knock on the door first. Hearing the knock, Wanda warns the fairies, and they restore the bathroom to normal and hide along the walls and ceiling. Crocker enters the bathroom, but seeing no fairies, he leaves. The convention goes on, and Timmy is satisfied that as long as someone knocks before entering the bathroom, the fairies will stay hidden. Furthermore, Timmy is informed that fairy conventions are very short, ending immediately after the closing entertainment. However, he asks out loud if Cosmo invited an act that could potentially discover the secret of fairies existing. As it so happens, Cosmo had hired Britney Britney, as well as her backup dancers. She knocks on the front door, declaring that she is there for the fair. Timmy quickly interrupts, saying that his family is having a "fair-ly nice dinner" and invites her to join them. Crocker quickly gets suspicious of fairy involvement causing a scantily clad pop diva to come to the Turner house, voicing this aloud within earshot of Britney. Mrs. Turner suggests the pop star freshen up before dinner in the bathroom.

When Britney goes to the bathroom, she knocks, alerting the fairies into vanishing again. When she finishes, she notices a button for the Cosmo Con on the floor. She shows it to everyone at the dinner table. Crocker finally gets suspicious enough that he decides to storm the bathroom. Timmy chases after him. Meanwhile, the fairies at the convention are demanding to see Britney Britney. Cosmo attempts to stall by being a one-fairy band, but the other fairies prepare to throw tomatoes at him. At that moment, Crocker bursts into the bathroom without knocking. He gets blinded by the tomatoes, then slips on a bar of soap. The other fairies avoid him as he slides through the convention's booths, and the demonstration wands and wings change Crocker's appearance into a flying fairy princess. The other fairies stop panicking and watch the spectacle, thinking its funny. Eventually, the still-blinded Crocker stumbles out of the house and onto the street, where he is promptly hit by a car. Jorgen praises Cosmo for coordinating this "human almost discovers fairies" comedy act, then declares the convention over, poofing it all away.

Crocker recovers, then tries storming the bathroom again, only to come in on Mrs. Turner. She screams in terror, but it turns out she is sitting on the counter clipping coupons off a newspaper. Crocker sheepishly tries to leave, but Mr. Turner boots him out of the house.

"Hit it, Britney!"

When everyone gets back to eating dinner, Mr. Turner apologizes for being so jealous of Crocker. Mrs. Turner forgives him. Then, Mr. Turner tells Britney to "hit it." Britney begins dancing with her backup dancers. Mrs. Turner, shocked and jealous, states her husband never tells her to "hit it." Mrs. Turner boots Britney out of the house. The pop star angrily tells herself she will do no more private gigs.

As Timmy begins to relax, he enters his bathroom, but finds that Wanda is now hosting the Fairy World RV and Boat Show inside. Cosmo happily plays on a boat and blows the foghorn. Since the bathroom door is still open, Timmy's parents hear the horn, but close their eyes and plug their noses as they walk by. Mr. Turner urges Timmy to shut the bathroom door if he will be doing that.
