- In The Big Superhero Wish, he becomes "Anchor Man", a play on the word "anchorman" which is another word for a lead news reporter.
- Chet has a similar hairstyle as Wanda and Blonda, but black. The hairstyles of Wanda and Blonda Fairywinkle and Chet Ubetcha were inspired in Wilma Flintstone from The Flintstones.
- It was revealed in Poltergeeks that he was a professional break dancer in the 1980s.
- He was once a tall person, but as revealed in The Secret Origin of Denzel Crocker!, he became short as a result of being close to a radioactive cellphone.
- A running gag with Chet is that when he has breaking news, it often contradicts what a person says before the breaking news occurred.
- He could be a parody of Kent Brockman from The Simpsons.
- He could also be similar to Hank Anchorman from Scott Fellows' Johnny Test.
- In Latin America, Chet Ubetcha was translated as "Pepe Veraz", until "Fairly OddPet", when they decided to keep the original English name (which also was preserved in the episode, "Merry Wishmas").
- Chet Ubetcha along with Timmy, Cosmo, Wanda, Mr. Turner, Mrs. Turner, Chester, AJ, Jorgen, Mark, Mr. Crocker and Vicky are the only characters to appear in every seasons of the show.
