Information
The location of Dimmsdale within California is not very clear, as often contradictory information is presented such as "Christmas Every Day" showing it to be in northern California, while "Fairy Idol" gives the location as southern California. However, given that Dimmsdale is subject to severe snowstorms in winter, it is probably safe to assume it's in the northern part of the state, as the southern part of California does not usually have snows and its winters are very mild. It is also the location of the city called Brightburg a town which was Dimmsdale's rival in terms of popularity (at least until it was destroyed in Mother Nature).
In real life
California is the thirty-first state to join the United States of America and has 52 counties. It is the most populous state in the country, and is famous for its film making industry. It is also the third-largest state in the United States, with an area of approximately 163,696 miles. California borders the states of Nevada, Arizona (both to the east), and Oregon (to the north). It also borders Mexico, which is outside the United States, and the Pacific Ocean, to the west. The capital of California is Sacramento, in the north-central portion of the state.
The state, given its location, is known to have a various number of disasters, especially earthquakes.
