The Channel Chasers ending was nearly perfect, but Hartman balked by making Timmy a cheap parody of his father and not showing him getting with Tootie (or giving her any reward really for being the shadow-hero of the movie). The FOP live movies were a big fat mistake too because they further missed the point, "I like Tootie now because she's hot!" give me a break! But at least the first could've been salvaged somewhat, the third where Timmy gets resurrected as a fairy was so embarrassingly bad Hartman should've been fired from Nickelodeon right then and there! Butch just can't get it right!

In my opinion the Channel Chasers ending is awful because the writers left Timmy's kids with an evil Vicky robot when they could have had A.J. or Chester babysit the kids. The real Vicky would have also been better than an evil robot as well. Or why not just end the special with Timmy burying the time casple?<br />

In my opinion Trixie is a snob to Timmy, Tootie is a stalker and Missy hardly has any development so I prefer Chloe for Timmy even though she takes up screen time for characters like A.J. or Chester. While I still count the episode as canon I don't count the ending to Channel Chasers as canon anymore. The live action movies are a stand alone timeline seeing Timmy became a fairy at the end. Maybe they could do a flashback episode where Timmy decides he doesn't need Trixie and Tootie out growing her obsession with Timmy in Season 11. Also for me the ending to Channel Chasers is like the Simpsons episodes that are set in the future which I consider to be "What ifs".
Tootie did nothing wrong and helped Timmy out even when he treated her like crap. If anything, having Timmy get over himself and warm up to her shows more growth for him as a character than anything else he needed.

The Channel Chasers ending was nearly perfect, but Hartman balked by making Timmy a cheap parody of his father and not showing him getting with Tootie (or giving her any reward really for being the shadow-hero of the movie).
