• At the end of this episode, Cosmo and Wanda officially reunite with their son, Poof (who has changed his name to "Periwinkle," while going by "Peri" for short).

Allusions

• Night at the Museum: Battle at the Smithsonian - This episode's title is an obvious reference to this movie.
• Ghostbusters - When Cosmo, Wanda, and Peri/Poof grant the combined wish, they spoof the scene in Ghostbusters in which the guys fire at Gozer. "Grab your wand. Got 'em. Make a wish! Wishin'. Let's show this middle-American demigod how we do things in Dimmadelphia!"
• Monster Beach - The staff is a slight resemblance to Knutt's staff.

Continuity & Easter Eggs

• The title card for this episode mirrors that of "Hare Raiser", an episode of Season 10 in the original series.
• Cosmo mentions having given birth to Poof/Peri, referencing the events of "Fairly Odd Baby," the latter's debut episode, as well as keeping the notion that male fairies are pregnant, like seahorses.
• Dev is still upset for what he did to Hazel at the Founder Day Festival from Lost and Founder's Day.
• Peri (formerly known as "Poof") hasn't seen his parents since before they went on their 10,000 year vacation.

• Cosmo recalls "episode 13", where he was a horse and Wanda was a cowboy hat. Though this never happened in "Stanky Danky," the actual thirteenth episode, it does happen in "Trial and Hair-or." The production code of Trial and Hair-or is FOP013.
