Mrs. Krentz is a tall, heavyset woman with red hair tied in a bun, green eyes and a mole on the side of her chin. She wears red lipstick, blue eyeshadow, a pearl necklace, studded pearl earrings, a pearl bracelet, a red leopard print shirt over a dark cyan dress, white socks and purple shoes.

Mrs. Krentz is shown to be mean and overly strict, as she threatens to make Hazel's entire class repeat the school year if they fail a single test and don't win her a new paperweight. She also claims that she prefers to tell bad news to her students directly because it lets her see the distress on their faces, implying she has a sadistic streak as well.
