Trivia

  • Some of the jobs Mr. Turner and his clones had were shark bait, K9 attack dog dummy, jetboots tester, matador, and beekeeper.
  • This is Chester McBadbat, A.J, Sanjay and Elmer’s first appearance in Season 7.
  • It's revealed that Mr. Turner originally wanted to name his son "Bono" (the stage name for Paul David Hewson, a rockstar from Ireland), and even had the name tattooed on his leg—but it was apparently Mrs. Turner's idea to name their son "Timothy" (and presumably call him "Timmy" for short).
  • This episode has a similar plot for Timmy wanting to spend time with his dad like in Who's Your Daddy?.
  • Invasion of the Dads is a sequel to this episode.
  • The title ("Add-a-Dad") contains only "a"s and "d"s.
  • This is the last appearance of Elmer's Dad and Sanjay's Stepdad in the series.

Allusions

  • The Simpsons - The plot of this episode is almost similar to "Treehouse of Horror XIII" segment, "Send in the Clones", where Homer clones himself with a magic hammock.
  • Three Days Grace - The title card is somewhat similar to the album cover, "One X" by Three Days Grace.
  • Days of our Lives - The series "Dads of our Lives" spoofs of the name of the TV series.
  • Planet of the Apes - "Planet of the Dads" is a spoof of "Planet of the Apes".
  • Jurassic Park - The movie "Jurassic Dad" is a spoof of the film.
  • It's Raining Men - When Cosmo added more Dads, one of the dads says "Hallelujah, It's Raining Dads!" which is a clear reference to the lyric "It's Raining Men! Hallelujah!".

Running Gags

  • Mr. Turner's jetboots failing.
  • Mr. Turner's phone ringing and going to his job.
  • Mr. Turner's clones all want to spend time with Timmy.
  • Mr. Turner's clones saying hi to Timmy.
  • Cosmo poofing up more Mr. Turner clones when Wanda suggests getting rid of them.

Goofs

  • In this episode, Mr. Turner seems to have many jobs, while in other episodes he only has one job as a "pencil pusher" at Pencil Nexus. It is possible he got fired from all his jobs sometime between this episode and Mice-Capades.
  • Some of the Dads have their badge with repeated numbers. For example, Dad #3 whose badge is yellow leaves to work as a beekeeper. Then, another Dad #3 whose badge is blue appears behind Timmy while watching Dad #43 playing baseball.
  • When Timmy and Dad #3 enjoy watching the baseball game, the other two Dads have no badges with any numbers.
  • When Mrs. Turner is washing dishes, you can see the television screen displaying the words, “Dads of Our Lives”, in the lower left corner of the scene prior to the introduction of another episode of “Dads of Our Lives”.
  • When the television screen displays the words “Dads of Our Lives”, the words, “of Our”, are large. However, in the next scene, the words, “of Our”, is small and the letter “O” of the word “Our” is in small letter.
  • One Dad after he cuts the hole shaped like the Dad’s face using a saw throws Timmy out of the treehouse and his arm stays there when he leaves along with the Dad’s arms. And then, in the next scene, the Dad’s arms are gone.
